We believe that each child is a special individual who has the potential to grow and become an effective member in our democratic society. Libby Booth Elementary will provide safe and research based opportunities for each student to grow and develop in a positive manner, intellectually, physically, socially, emotionally, and personally, according to his or her individual needs and unique abilities. Our students recite our BRUINS cheer daily. B- Believe, R- Respect yourself and Others, U- Unity, I- Individuality, N- Never Give Up, S- Shared Responsibility.

School Highlights
School Highlights:
Libby Booth Elementary School, built in 1956, is located in Reno, Nevada, just southeast of downtown Reno and in close proximity to Renown Medial Center. Within the student body of approximately 510 students, 100% receive Free and Reduced Lunch , 56 % are Hispanic, and 46% percent of these students are also identified as LEP (Limited English Proficient). Libby Booth also has a transiency rate of over 56%.
The Libby Booth Community takes great pride in its progress in student achievement. During the 2008-2009 school year, Libby Booth was identified as demonstrating Adequate Yearly Progress by meeting all No Child Left Behind criteria in the areas of English language arts (ELS), mathematics, and the school-wide other indicator. In addition to the information provided by state CRT assessments, the highly-trained staff has also works diligently to use other data sources to determine academic growth for all students. All teachers participate in weekly Professional Learning Community (PLC) meetings to use data to make instructional decisions, curriculum planning, and to monitor student growth.
At popular school-wide assemblies, students are recognized for academic improvement, citizenship, and classroom improvements. Students also receive positive behavior supports, gold tickets, when demonstrating behaviors emphasized in our BRUIN cheer.
Libby Booth is also proud of its increasing parent involvement. Our Parent Involvement Facilitator has organized and led several parent events throughout the school year including: Math Night, Smart Shopping classes, Math Leader trainings, English courses, and many other school-wide events.
