Goal

Concerns
What needs to be adjusted or done differently in order to accomplish the stated goal?
1.
ELA
— Increase the percentage of students in every subgroup who are meeting or exceeding proficiency and decrease the percentage of the students in every subgroup who are emergent or approaching profieiency in English/Language Arts. Every subgroup will make AYP as measured by percent above cut.
Bi-Annual Review The percent of student meeting/exceeding standards on the reading CRT increased in grade 4th, 5th and 6th.
There was a decrease in the percent of students meeting or exceeding standards in 3rd grade. Whole school, ESL, special education, and FRL populations did not meet the AYP target of 63.8% of students meeting or exceeding standards.
Provide addition ESL and special education support for students moving into fourth grade for the 2010-2011 school year.
2.
Math
— Increase the percentage of students in every subgroup who are meeting or exceeding proficiency and decrease the percentage of students in every subgroup who are emergent or approaching proficiency in Math. Every subgroup will make AYP as measured by percent above cut.
Bi-Annual Review The percent of students meeting or exceeding the standards on the CRT increased in 3rd, 4th and 5th grade.
The percent of students meeting meeting or exceeding the standards on the CRT decreased in 6th grade. Whole school, ESL, special education, and FRL populations did not meet the AYP target of 65.9% of students meeting or exceeding standards.
Implement math intervention block based on standards for the 2010-11 school year.
3.
Writing
— Increase the percentage of students who are meeting or exceeding proficiency and decrease the percentage of students in every subgroup who are emergent or approaching proficiency in Writing.
Bi-Annual Review Step Up to Writing was implemented across all grade levels. 5th grade teacher met weekly to discuss writing strategies.
The number of students recieving a 12 or better of the writing assessment remained at 28%.
A school wide monthly trait focus will be implemented for the 2010-11 school year. Monthly prompts will be given to fifth grade students before the writing assessment. After the writing assessment 4th grade monthly writing prompts will be given. After the first trimester fifth grade students will have a common prompt which all 5th grade, ESL and Special Education teacher will analyze.
