What needs to be adjusted or done differently in order to accomplish the stated goal?
1.
ELA
— Increase the percentage of students in every subgroup who are meeting or exceeding proficiency in English/Language Arts. Every subgroup will make AYP as measured by percent above cut (or safe harbor if necessary in the cases of ELL and Special Education students).
Bi-Annual Review - CRT score school wide average is above 51% proficient. - Fidelity to the programs is achieving results. - $20,000 of new library book were purchased by Reading First funds. - ActiveBoards were installed in primary classrooms.
- Students in ESL and IEP are not achieving at the targeted goal. - Many students have moved into the area after the school year had begun.
- Create a master schedule in which no students are pulled during core instuction. - Hire two certified teachers for the ESL classes. - Focus on teaching vocabulary utilizing research based strategies
2.
Math
— Increase the percentage of students in every sub group who are meeting or exceeding proficiency in Math. Every subgroup will make AYP as measured by percent about cut (or safe harbor if necessary in the cases of ELL and Special Education students).
Bi-Annual Review - Teachers have high expectations for students and communicate those expecations in class and at PLCs. - In PLC teachers are idenitifying students who struggle using benchmark data. These student receive additional instuction until they master the content.
- Everyday math games are not used consistently across the grades.
- Increase writing in the math block. - Math interventions need to increased using research based strategies. - Implement cross grade level tutoring. - Communicate math expectations to the parents.

Writing
— Increase the percentage of students who are meeting or exceeding proficiency in Writing.
Bi-Annual Review
- Writing proficiency scores have remained below target for the past two years.
- Implement the Step Up to Writing program. - Set goals and expectations across all grade levels to ensure a consistent building of writing skills.
