School Mission or Vision Statement
Double Diamond Elementary students will achieve excellence in academics, citizenship, and attendance through a safe and challenging environment in which multiple instructional strategies are used to meet our diverse population of learners.
School Highlights
Response to Interventions for Academics (RTI-A): The master schedule designates a daily 45 minute period where students receive enrichment and or extra support in core curriculum areas.

Response to Interventions for Behavior (RTI-B): Students with behavioral challenges received specific instruction and support to meet their needs.
Positive Behavior Support (PBS): In this school-wide program, expectations for behavior are taught and reviewed regularly. Students earn rewards for good behavior. Expectations are consistent thorough the school campus at grade levels.

Special Education Preschool Program: Two sessions of preschool for students with special needs were added this year.

Outdoor Education: 6th graders attended camp at Lake Tahoe. 5th graders camped near Portola, CA.

Art Instruction: The Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) subsidized professional art instruction for students at all grade levels.

Music Instruction: Every student participated in a t least one music performance this year. The Double Diamond Choir with over 125 members, performed at UNR basketball games and at the Nevada Art Museum.
